The Last Post!

Today is the last day of this blog contest! This calls for a celebration ... which will consist of me commemorating it with a post. This is, indeed, more of a celebration than it would seem, simply beacuse of the fact that it is in the middle of exam time. Writing a blog is a luxury. I sit around reading Jaques Derrida - an infamously convoluted literary theorist - and decide to take a break to write a blog. It's fantastic.

On a related note, to end with, in the spirit of exam time, I have a little story to tell. It's a cautionary tale, although it did have one positive result. My roommate and a friend decided to go down a hill on a grocery cart a little over a week ago (while both of them were completely sober - these are just things they like to do for fun), with the end result being an incredibly serious concussion for my roommate, because of which he had no memory of the past 2 months, was hospitalized for 2 days, and as of yesterday still only had a memory of about 5 minutes before he started re-looping (that's basically like the memory of a goldfish. I believe theirs is 2 minutes). So word to the wise is ... wear a helmet. As my roommate says, at least it was epic. However, he now has a doctor's note which exempts him from all exams! I'm a little jealous, okay a lot, but then I see the aftereffects and decide it's not worth it. He concurs. In comparison with losing a large portion of memory for two weeks and getting nauseous for no apparent reason on a regular basis, exams don't seem quite as bad. So! Let that be motivation for you! It could be worse!
